Emission targets: Cameron intervenes
16/05/2011 - David Cameron has moved to resolve a Cabinet row over the UK's climate change targets, with an agreement on emissions to be announced on Tuesday. This will see drastic cuts in greenhouse gas emissions to 2027 and an overhaul of the way energy is produced. But ministers worried about the impact on the economy and burdens on industry have secured a get-out clause.

RUK reaction to ECC report
16/05/2011 - Commenting today on the Energy and Climate Change (ECC) Committee’s Electricity Market Reform report, RenewableUK, the country’s leading renewable energy trade association, said that in order to ‘seal the deal’ on renewables the Government needs to get two policy areas absolutely right: the Electricity Market Reform (EMR) and the 2020 delivery roadmap.  Click here for full story

Campaign to promote use of wood fuel
16/05/2011 - A campaign has been launched to persuade more Scottish homes and businesses to burn wood for heating.
